Grapes: 100% Sangiovese.

Soil: rocky and rich in stony material.

Year of planting: 1970.

Density: 8,330 vines/Ha.

Production per hectare: 40 quintals.

Number of bottles p/year: 5,000.

Vinification: alcoholic fermentation in wooden vats for 20 days, malolactic fermentation in barriques and tonneaux of first and second hand.

Refining: 18 months in French oak barriques and tonneaux, 18 months in bottles.

Colour: ruby red.

Aroma: typical scents of Sangiovese, like plum, black cherry and violet, followed by spicy cinnamon and tobacco notes.

Flavour: pleasantly tannic and enveloping, fullbodied and with lingering aftertaste.

Serving temperature: 18-20 °C.

Serving: pasta, red meat, roast meat and furred game.
