The Charleston Wine Store was established 44 years ago from the determination of Lucio Mearini to sell bottled wine, a novelty in the 1960s, given that the overwhelming majority of the wine produced in Tuscany was sold loosely by the demijohn.

Charleston, thanks to an article by James Suckling that appeared in the prestigious magazine WineSpectator in September 2002, has become a destination of preference for many tourists, primarily Americans that visit Italy. A point of reference for their purchases with over 6,000 wines on display in the store and 35,000 bottles in the cellar.
